The Church Board wanted to complete upgrades to provide a kitchenette in the current boardroom with the objective of moving to a full commercial kitchen in this room in the future. This would allow their 2017 addition of a new Family Life Centre to be more usable for weddings and other church functions, as well as community activities.
The project involved:
· Cutting the existing basement floor to tie 2017 addition sewer into existing building sewer.
· Increasing size of water pipe from the point of entry to the building to meet water demands for future commercial kitchen. Installation of a larger backflow prevention device for the building was required as part of this water upgrade.
· Plumbing was done below future boardroom to facilitate future commercial kitchen demands as well as provide a two-compartment kitchen sink in the current boardroom.
· Rolling cabinets were designed and installed on either side of a new fridge in the boardroom. These rolling cabinets and the kitchenette cabinets were designed in collaboration with the church kitchen staff and were planned so that the bases could be used in the future commercial kitchen. The rolling cabinets can be moved into the adjacent Family Life Centre when there are functions on.
